Description

The West Sedgemoor Drain (Stathe Drain) is situated on the Somerset Levels and is a site of special scientific interest.

The fish in this drain can be easily spooked but once you’ve cracked the code the rewards are well worth the wait. With specimen sized carp seen in resent years topping over 30 lbs in weight and pike to 20 lbs.

There is also a large head of quality perch with fish to 4 lbs which is ideal for a light lure set up however, this water can get weedy mid summer before the second weed cut around September. The roach fishing is about as good as it gets anywhere. Quality roach can be caught using caster and hemp.

Sizeable bream and tench can be caught on the pole or using a waggler over chopped worm and corn.

There are three wooden platform swims available at the pumping station which are within easy access from the car park.

Parking & access

This water is situated on the Burrowbridge to Langport road, Fishing is only permitted on the south bank from the Pumping Station to Pincombe Bridge. There is no vehicle access at Pincombe Bridge however there is ample parking at the Pumping Station end.
