Help the Club – Fast Stretch Fish Movements

One of the clubs objectives is to try and establish a plan for the future habitat management and improvements of the  River Tone’s Fast Stretch in Taunton.

There have been concerns and very many discussions about the predation of our fish stocks on the Fast Stretch. We are in continued dialogue with our colleagues at the Environmental Agency on how we can gain a better understanding the quality of the fishery.

With this in mind, in conjunction with the EA, we have introduced another batch of 400 panjetted Roach, marked with a blue dot, (see picture above) to gain some valuable data on the status of the fishery.

This test will involve your help!

If you should catch one of these Roach marked with a blue dot on the belly. Could we ask that it’s reported to the club via Facebook messenger, phone or email along with a photo.

How to report your catch location.
As 99% of people have a smartphone. We are going to use the What3words app.
If you don’t have a smartphone, there is a table below with locations already added
Hopefully by the end of the river season we will start to see some results.
